Mutual Aid Agreement

Several places in this manual assume a household has already agreed, in writing, on who helps whom and with what. Most households haven't, because there's never been an actual template to fill out, just the advice to make one. This is that template. Start with your two or three nearest neighbors, not a whole organization, that's genuinely enough to matter, and the Finding Your Local Prep Community guide is where to go once you're ready for something bigger.

2. What each household actually brings

Be specific: a skill, a tool, a vehicle, a stockpile category, a spare room, not just "I'll help."

3. What's owed in return

Reciprocity in plain language, not a debt ledger. Fill in one line per household.

4. If we disagree about what was agreed to

First, we will:

If that doesn't resolve it, we'll ask (a neighbor all of us trust, agreed on now, not chosen later) to help sort it out.

5. Signatures

Not a legal contract, a real record of a real agreement between people who intend to keep it. Sign, date, and each household keeps a copy.
